FAQs
Visit Skyline, choose from 20 locations across the UK, and book your skydive, or you can take a look at our other partners, Skydive buzz, Go Skydive, Sky-High Skydiving, for a more suitable location.
Once you have filled in your details, select Alzheimer’s Research UK as your chosen charity followed by your preferred skydiving date and then pay the registration fee. We will be in touch to help you set up your Just Giving page to start fundraising.
Alzheimer’s Research UK partners with several skydiving companies and agencies including Skyline, Skydive buzz, Go Skydive and Sky-High Skydiving.
Please note that each Skydiving centre or agency will have its own set of procedures, restrictions, and regulations around skydiving. Please contact the centre you wish to jump from for more details on what they each individually offer. Alzheimer’s Research UK cannot help with booking your skydive or enquiries about the day.
Choose from a location offered by our skydive partners here:
- Skyline offers 20 locations across the UK
- Skydive buzz in Devon
- Go Skydive in Salisbury, Kent and Swansea
- Sky-High Skydiving in Durham
Please contact the skydive centre that you wish to jump from to find out what restrictions they have in place for factors such as weight, height, age and health.
We currently offer two options for skydives, a self-funded place, or a charity-sponsored place.
- Self-funded places require you to pay the skydive centre directly for the whole cost of the jump. This place requires no minimum sponsorship so you can set your own fundraising target. We are extremely grateful for whatever you raise.
- Charity-sponsored places require you to raise a minimum sponsorship of £395. This total needs to be raised three weeks before your scheduled jump date for Alzheimer’s Research UK to cover the cost of your jump. If you do not reach the minimum sponsorship, your jump will need to be rescheduled to give you more time to hit the target or cancelled if the target cannot be reached.
To confirm your place, the booking or registration fee is a mandatory payment that ranges from £50.00 to £72.50, depending on which skydive centre you book with.
If you have a charity-sponsored place, this fee is separate from your £395 minimum sponsorship and cannot be funded by Alzheimer’s Research UK.
Fantastic! Alzheimer’s Research UK will be in touch to welcome you and send you a fundraising guide and free t-shirt. In the meantime, it is time to set up and personalise your Just Giving page and start fundraising. Share your page far and wide with your friends, family and colleagues to help exceed your target.
Once you have booked your skydive, you’ll receive our fundraising guide filled with hints and tips on how to fundraise but for some initial ideas, you can:
- Set up your JustGiving Page and share this with your friends, family and colleagues via text, email, and social media.
- Share your story and let your supporters know why you are fundraising.
- Reach a wider audience and use QR codes and posters at your workplace or in your local area.
- Set a fundraising target to encourage people to donate. You must reach the minimum target of £395 but on average, our skydivers raise between £700 and £1000.
- On average, fundraisers receive 20% more donations after the event, so remember to keep your fundraising page open after your skydive.
- Always thank your donors publicly by tagging them on social media – this will encourage others to donate.
- Check if your employer offers match funding where they donate the same amount you raise.
We always advise setting up a Just Giving page alongside collecting sponsorship in person but for those donations you receive offline, you can pay them in using the details on our website. If you have booked a charity-sponsored skydive, please do keep us updated with the funds you have raised offline so we can keep track of the progress you are making toward your target.
To reschedule your skydive, please contact your skydive centre as soon as possible. They will be able to assist in rescheduling your jump date, time or airfield depending on availability. The skydive centre will transfer your booking fee to the new booking.
Please contact the skydive centre you booked with to cancel your jump and also let us know by emailing skydive@alzheimersresearchuk.org. Remember your registration fee is non-refundable.
Our skydive enquiry team at Alzheimer’s Research UK are here to provide support on fundraising and tips on how you can exceed your fundraising targets. You can contact us at skydive@alzheimersresearchuk.org.
If you have questions about your skydive day, please contact the skydive centre directly, or read their FAQs on their website.
