Enterprising fundraiser, Charlotte Carver, from Upton upon Severn in Worcestershire, has designed The Charity Shopper bag with the aim of raising money for the Alzheimer’s Research Trust as well as the Mental Health Foundation and Wellbeing of Women.

A founder member of the Charity Fairs Association, Charlotte explained her motivation for supporting the Alzheimer’s Research Trust: “I was inspired by Terry Pratchett’s announcement that he has a form of Alzheimer’s and the fact that dementia research is hugely underfunded. I realised then that this is something that can affect any of us and I decided I wanted to do something to help.

“I have designed a black patent-look bag, which I’ve called simply The Charity Shopper. It has shoulder-length straps and a smart, wipe-clean purple lining. Not only is this limited edition ‘all day’ bag strong and practical but anyone using it will feel good too, especially knowing that a substantial amount from every bag sold is being shared between three hugely deserving charities. The Charity Shopper bag costs £19.95 or two for £30.00 and the charities will receive £2.50 each from every bag we can sell between now and the end of May.”

Charlotte Garner, Community Fundraiser for the Alzheimer’s Research Trust said: “We are very grateful for the time and effort Charlotte is putting into this project to raise money for vital dementia research. By doing so she is helping to bring us closer to finding new preventions, treatments and the cure so desperately needed. Our research is entirely funded by our wonderful supporters and every penny counts.

“There are nearly 7,000 people in Worcestershire living with the daily reality of dementia and the devastating effects it has on their lives.”
