Policy Sounding Boards

Join the conversation to help shape dementia policy across the UK and give a voice to people impacted by dementia

Alzheimer’s Research UK is working hard to keep dementia on the agenda of policymakers. We need your help to represent people affected by dementia, build evidence to drive policy, and increase decision-makers’ awareness of the impact of dementia.

We are looking for people to register their interest for future Sounding Board opportunities. This includes both people with the condition and those caring for someone with dementia.

Volunteers will take part in group discussions to help sense-check our current work and offer insight into future programmes of work.

We are looking for people who would be interested in attending Policy Sounding Boards in London or Cambridge. We will be aiming to hold a Sounding Board every 3-4 months, where we will go out to those who have registered interest to see who would be able to attend.

Sounding Boards will usually last 2-3 hours with refreshments.

In your application, we’d be interested to know whether you’re caring for, living with or know someone living with dementia (if applicable) and why you’d like to volunteer in this role.

Sounding Board duties will include:

  • Being a voice to help sense-check items of work such as consultation responses, and to offer insight into future relevant topics and programmes of work.
  • Helping shape the direction of our policy work and new projects.
  • Sharing experiences of being affected by dementia, either personally or as a carer or family/friend.
