Use your experience to help make research feasible for people living with dementia.
Alzheimer’s Research UK is the fastest growing medical research charity in the UK, tackling dementia, the world’s greatest medical challenge. In order to fund the best quality scientific research, all research applications go through a rigorous review process. Lay Reviewers play a really important role in this process.
We need your help to review scientists’ applications for new research projects that involve people with dementia, to make sure they take into account the needs and experience of those affected. Don’t worry, you don’t need to be an expert on research! Our volunteer Lay Reviewers will:
- Consider how feasible, reasonable, practical and well-thought out the proposals are for people living with dementia.
- Be asked to volunteer your comments once or twice every year (and you may even get a chance to attend a Grant Review Board panel meeting too).
In your application, we’d be interested to know whether you’re caring for, living with or know someone living with dementia (if applicable) and why you’d like to volunteer in this role.
