Fundraising online tips
We're so grateful you've decided to fundraise for Alzheimer's Research UK. Here are some resources and information to get your online fundraising up and running.
Setting up your online fundraising page
Your own online fundraising page is a great way to tell people about what you’re doing to defeat dementia. It makes it easy for people to donate and for you to track your progress. The money comes directly to us, and goes straight to powering our research.
Setting up your own page couldn’t be easier:
- Head to Virgin Money Giving, JustGiving or MyDonate and follow the instructions. Find out more about charity giving site charges and transaction fees
- Personalise your page with photos, and add a message about why you’re raising funds for us. Remember, every pound you raise brings us closer to defeating dementia.
- Email your friends, family and colleagues a link to your page, post it on Facebook or Tweet it.
- Watch as the messages of support and sponsorship roll in.
These sites offer a secure, simple and effective way for people to sponsor you online. You won’t even need to chase them for money, as funds get sent directly from the site to us.

I think Nan would have been pretty proud of what I’m doing, but also think I was crazy! It will be made all the more special knowing I’ll be raising money for Alzheimer’s Research UK along the way. It’s such a deserving cause and I’m proud to be supporting a charity working towards finding a cure for this awful disease.”
