Hosted by Public Engagement Manager, Dr Katy Bray, the speakers also explored new dementia treatments on the horizon, including the latest news surrounding lecanemab. Discussions were also had into the importance of growing awareness of dementia research in government and with politicians.
Speakers

Prof James Rowe is a Professor of Cognitive Neurology at the University of Cambridge and a practicing consultant neurologist. He is also Chair of our Strategic Advisory Board.
James leads regional specialist clinics for rare dementias and is a consultant at Cambridge Memory Clinic. He balances his clinical work with leading a team of researchers studying FTD and related diseases, with the aim of understanding the underlying characteristics, improving diagnoses, and informing new treatments.

Scott Michell is husband of the late Dame Barbara Windsor - and an Ambassador of Alzheimer’s Research UK.

Dr Rosa Sancho joined the Research team at Alzheimer’s Research UK in 2012. As Head of Research, Rosa is responsible for the implementation of ARUK’s research strategy and funding programmes, and partnerships with other organisations.
