Our brilliant dads
By Oliver English | Friday 17 June 2016
All this week in the run up to Father’s Day we’ve been celebrating amazing dads. We’ve been sharing our supporters’ pictures and memories and many of you have also been in touch to tell us your favourite story, or just to simply to say what makes your dad so special to you.
We’ve shared just a few of your stories from Facebook below, but we’d love to hear from you. If you want to mark Father’s Day by sharing your own story about your dad, post a comment at the bottom of this post.
Our brilliant dads are amazing, and sharing your memories with us shows the importance of making breakthroughs possible. You can also help accelerate progress in making these breakthoughs by donating in celebration of your dad today.

Father’s Day is also an important time to remember the impact that dementia has on the lives of people who have dads living with dementia.
Claire Brien’s childhood was changed forever nine years ago when her dad was diagnosed with vascular dementia following a severe stroke. He now struggles with many daily activities and relies on Clare to help him get out of bed, cook his meals and give him the 27 different tablets he needs every day. She admits that growing up as a carer has been hard, but is grateful for every precious moment she still has with her dad. Read her story.
