Keeping Mum

By James Odell | Monday 16 December 2013

James Murray-White’s film ‘Keeping Mum’ is a touching account of his mother; starting from the point of her dementia diagnosis, looking at their daily struggles and the strength of their relationship.

The film was shown as part of the recent Exploring Dementia Through Film event in Cambridge, where eight filmmakers showcased their short films on dementia, with a question and answer session with filmmakers and scientists.

James, who is a keen supporter of Alzheimer’s Research UK, was recently a media advocate for us during the G8 Summit, talking to ITV Local and National News, Channel 5 and LBC Radio about his experiences and his thoughts on how the arts can benefit people with dementia.

It was also recently announced that James was to become the Cambridge Dementia Research Network Filmmaker in Residence. James will be filming researchers in the Network for a future project. We’ll be publishing more details in a future Blog post.
