Help shape dementia policy across the UK and ensure this devastating condition remains high on the political agenda
Alzheimer’s Research UK is working hard to keep dementia research firmly on the government’s agenda. But, to make the biggest impact, we need your help.
As someone affected by dementia, your experiences, ideas and opinions can help us increase decision-makers’ awareness of the condition, and drive policy change across the UK.
By joining our Policy Insight and Experience Panel of around 20 volunteers, you will inform and shape important Alzheimer’s Research UK projects. For example, how we work with government, industry and decision-makers in health systems to prepare for the arrival of future dementia treatments.
About this role
We’re asking volunteers to commit to approximately 1-2 hours per month for this role, in addition to attending an annual in-person event. The role will include:
- Sharing your experiences of being affected by dementia, either personally or as a family member/caregiver/friend.
- Joining us in person in London or Cambridge (location to be determined through consultation with panel members) for our Policy Insight Day (Spring 2023)
- Taking part in virtual meetings, via Zoom or Microsoft Teams, alongside other panel volunteers.
- Commenting and providing feedback on documents such as policy reports and campaign materials, to inform our response to government announcements and consultations on current or new policy and legislation.
We value diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive culture where everyone can be themselves and reach their full potential. We actively encourage applications for this volunteer role from people of all backgrounds and cultures.
Applications for this role are currently on hold. If you would like to be contacted about future opportunities to join the Panel, please email [email protected]. Thank you.
