Spring Raffle – April 2023 Rules and Regulations

- The draw will take place on Tuesday 18 July 2023. Tickets must be returned by Friday 7 July 2023. Entries received after Friday 7 July will be treated as a donation and not entered into the draw.
- The cost of each ticket and entry is £1. Where completed ticket stubs have been returned to Alzheimer’s Research UK but no payment has been received, these tickets will not be entered into the draw.
- No detail in the application may be changed in any way once it has been submitted except for change of address.
- No person under the age of 16 is allowed by law to purchase raffle tickets. We have set the minimum age at 18 and reserve the right to refuse sales of raffle tickets to anyone under the age of 18.
- Any person who has entered the Alzheimer’s Research UK Raffle who is under 18 years old will automatically forfeit any prize and will be excluded from future entries. If a child under 18 years old is found to have participated in the raffle after the draw has taken place, then a full refund will be made to that person and any prizes that might otherwise have been due to them will not be paid out. If prizes have already been paid out, all reasonable attempts will be made to recover them.
- The Alzheimer’s Research UK Spring raffle is open to residents of England, Wales and Scotland. No entrants are allowed from Northern Ireland, the Channel Islands, or the Isle of Man.
- Tickets may not be sold in the street.
- Entry is excluded for Alzheimer’s Research UK staff, trustees or directors, or third parties each directly involved in the administration or management of the raffle, or with the ability to influence the raffle results.
- Alzheimer’s Research UK reserves the right without notice or reason to cancel or refuse entry to the raffle. Alzheimer’s Research UK’s decision on all matters affecting the draw is final and legally binding. No correspondence regarding the results of the draw will be entered into.
- Alzheimer’s Research UK accepts no liability for loss, theft or delay due to post or for any interest for late items or any late bank payments. Specifically, Alzheimer’s Research UK shall not be liable for any loss or damage suffered or arising from:
– any delays or failures in the postal service or other delivery methods used by Alzheimer’s Research UK or any of its suppliers, or the supporter from time to time.
– any delays or failures in any software or other systems used by Alzheimer’s Research UK or any of its suppliers in the administration of the raffle.
– any delays or failures in the Banking system used by Alzheimer’s Research UK or any of its suppliers or the supporter.
– any failure to enter a chance into the draw by omission or late receipt.
– any event beyond the reasonable control of Alzheimer’s Research UK or any of its suppliers - In the event of the draw being unduly delayed, we will take all reasonable steps to contact all entrants in writing where possible. We will also advertise any changes in draw date on our website and via social media (Facebook and Twitter).
- Any complaints relating to the raffle should be sent in writing either by letter or email to the Supporter Care Manager at enquiries@alzheimersresearchuk.org, call 0300 111 5555 or write to Alzheimer’s Research UK, Unit 3 Riverside, Granta Park, Cambridge, CB21 6AD. You should give full details of the complaint and supply any supporting documentation. You can obtain a copy of the complaints procedure by writing to the Supporter Care Manager at the above address or by email. This is also available online at org/about-us/get-in-touch/making-a-complaint/. Complaints will be handled in line with the complaints procedure found within Alzheimer’s Research UK Policy & Procedure. Complaints that cannot be resolved by Alzheimer’s Research UK including personal attention from the Promoter will be escalated to a third party; the Fundraising Regulator or the Independent Betting Adjudication service where appropriate.
- Winners will be notified in writing. The top three winners will be notified by telephone where a telephone number is available. A list of winners will be published on our website once all winners have been contacted and their permission to be named obtained (see here). The list of winners can also be accessed by calling Alzheimer’s Research UK’s Supporter Care Team.
- Alzheimer’s Research UK will request the right to publish the names of winners but all winners have the right to refuse. Where a winner declines to be named, their name will appear in an anonymised format in the list of winners, giving title, initial and geographic location. The winner’s photo may be required for future marketing.
- Where Alzheimer’s Research UK have made reasonable efforts to contact a prize winner but are unsuccessful, the prize will be donated back to the charity within six months.
- There are no cash alternatives to the prize vouchers and no interest is payable. Payment of cash prizes will be made by bank transfer or by cheque by post within 21 days. Other prizes by arrangement.
- The Alzheimer’s Research UK Spring raffle is subject to the laws of England and Wales.
- Winners are selected by random selection of tickets.
- The prize structure for the Spring Raffle 2023 is as follows:
-First prize is £3,000 cash
-Second prize is £700 cash
-Third prize is £250 cash
-Runners-up prizes are 20 x £20 Love2Shop vouchers
In 2022, £103,467 was raised from ticket sales in our raffles - 8.4% being spent on prizes, 22.74% being re-invested into growing the raffle programme so that it can raise more in the future and 68.9% (£71,234.65) going on to fund the work of Alzheimer’s Research UK.
In 2022, the likelihood of winning a prize was 1 in 2069 or 0.05%.
Nothing within these terms and conditions shall create or should be construed as creating any form of contract between any entrant and Alzheimer’s Research UK.
Alzheimer’s Research UK is licensed by the Gambling Commission (reference number 37003), and this lottery is run under the rules laid down by the Gambling Act 2005 (www.gamblingcommission.gov.uk). The people responsible for this lottery are Hilary Evans and Phil Dunn.

A subscriber who uses an exclusion form will not be able to participate in the Charity’s lottery for a period of not less than 6 months. The self-exclusion will appear on your record on our database.
Data protection
Personal data provided to Alzheimer’s Research UK as part of this raffle is held on a confidential basis. Such data will be used for raffle administration and auditing purposes. We will also use it to keep you informed of Alzheimer’s Research UK’s activities. Except where necessary for our trusted suppliers to administer the raffle, your data will not be passed onto any third party.
