Take on the Explorer Hike in the Peak District with #TeamARUK
Take in the amazing views of some of the most iconic spots in the Peak District as you take on this 26 mile trek. Beginning your hike in Bakewell, you will follow the beautiful 26 mile trail until you reach the finish point in Carsington Water and are rewarded with your very well-deserved medal! With fully stocked pit-stops along the route, get to know your fellow walkers and enjoy this wonderful challenge whilst raising vital funds for dementia research.
About ARUK Explorer Hike
The ARUK Explorer Hike takes place in the beautiful Peak District, exclusively for Alzheimer’s Research UK supporters. Take on the walk alone, with friends, or meet people on the day who share a connection to dementia.
Your 26-mile hike will begin at Bakewell, with a coach to take you there from our start and finish point in Carsington Water. Once you cross the finish line you’ll be rewarded with your medal, snacks, and refreshments. Along the route there will be fully stocked pitstops where you can stop to chat to volunteers and other walkers, or just take a well-earned break!
If you’d love to take part but you’re worried about the distance, why not join us for our 8-mile hike, which takes place at the same time! Whichever route you pick, you’ll be surrounded by stunning natural views while you raise awareness and vital funds.
Your fundraising options
When you sign up for the Explorer Hike with our Minimum Sponsorship or Flexi Fundraising option, your registration fee and the money you fundraise helps to contribute to essential dementia research.
Minimum fundraising
With this option there is no registration fee and a pledge to raise £300. We kindly ask that you raise 50% of the fundraising target 8 weeks before event day to ensure your place in the event.
Flexi fundraising
With this option there is a registration fee of £50 and pledge to raise a smaller fundraising target of £200. We kindly ask that you raise 50% of the fundraising target 8 weeks before event day to ensure your place in the event.
