Restrictions

Minimum age is 10 (Parent/Guardian’s permission is required for anyone under 18 and an appropriate adult will be required to attend and have full parental responsibility for the duration of the event). The accompanying adult is not subject to an additional fundraising target of £250.

Cells are small, dark and confined so not recommended for anyone with claustrophobia or similar conditions.

Cells are very basic with only a wooden platform for sitting/sleeping, so this event is not recommended for anyone with mobility needs or joint/muscle/bone conditions.

There will be a requirement to use steps and metal stairs as well as navigate uneven flooring in order to access your cell and toilet facilities, so sadly this challenge will not be appropriate for anyone with mobility needs or who is unable to climb stairs unaided.

The lock-up is a Victorian building and lighting is uneven with many low light level areas, so may not be appropriate for anyone with visual impairments.

No alcohol is allowed on the premises, and entry will be refused to anyone considered drunk by the duty Sergeant.

To avoid overcrowding you will be given a timed slot in which to arrive. Please adhere to this time to allow for a smooth booking in process.

No prison visits will be allowed during your stay, but there will be a chance to earn rewards where you can leave your cell for a few minutes and be taken to an area where there is a mobile signal so that you can make a call or post about the challenge on social media.

The cells can get cold! Come in warm clothing, and don’t forget, if you raise at least £100 in advance of your challenge you can bring your pillow and sleeping bag/blankets for extra comfort!

The premises has a no naked flames policy and is a no smoking facility.

All prisoners will be subject to a bag and brief body check on arrival and lighters, matches, candles, alcohol or any item which could be used as a weapon will be confiscated and returned upon release the following day.
