The Alzheimer’s Show 2019, Olympia
Alzheimer’s Research UK is delighted to return as the research charity partner for The Alzheimer’s Show 2019, which takes place at Olympia in London on Friday 7 and Saturday 8 June.
The Alzheimer’s Show is the UK’s only exhibition and conference for family and professional carers looking for the very best practical advice, information, products and services to help those affected by dementia.
Across the two-day event visitors can listen to and question the experts on a wide range of topics, including a line-up of speakers from Alzheimer’s Research UK.
On Friday 7 June, Dr Sara Imarisio, Head of Strategic Initiatives at Alzheimer’s Research UK, will be discussing what we currently know about dementia, exploring the complex field of dementia research and where it is heading.
On Saturday 8 June, Dr Neil Graham, Alzheimer’s Research UK Clinical Research Fellow at Imperial College London, will discuss his latest research into the relationship between head injury and the risk of developing dementia. He will explore the challenges in understanding how different brains change over time after injury and the importance of researching this link further.
Following both talks, visitors will have the chance to put their questions to a panel of experts.
We will also have speakers in the Talks and Topics theatre across both days who will talk of their own experience of dementia.
As well as listening to informative talks, visitors can also try out Alzheimer’s Research UK’s virtual reality experience, A Walk Through Dementia, to gain further understanding of what it is like to live with a form of dementia.
There will also be talks from carers, a quiet area and the opportunity to meet an Admiral Nurse for a 1-2-1 consultation.
