The Mighty Quiz
With just a couple of weeks to go until the big day we are delighted to see keen quizzers up and down the country getting ready to host their own Mighty Quiz for Alzheimer’s Research UK.
On Thursday 27 April the nation will come together to take part in a quiz like no other. What’s different about the Mighty Quiz is the hilarity of it all.
With fun riddles, wipe-out rounds, physical challenges and even some structural engineering using spaghetti and marshmallows there is something for everyone and you certainly don’t need to be an academic or quiz buff to take part!
A Mighty Quiz is easy to organise so don’t worry if you have yet to sign up, there is still time:
- Simply order your Quizmaster pack that comes complete with questions, a score card, puzzle sheets, a how to guide, posters to advertise your quiz and even brilliant ‘bearded beer mats’ for the winning team.
- Pick a date (or even easier ask your local pub to take over their weekly quiz night), get some of your most efficient friends to help you plan, use your social media networks to shout about it and then sit back and wait for the big night. Or start practising your spaghetti and marshmallow tower…
A top tip from us would be to hold a raffle on the day. People attending are always keen to get involved and are often very generous. This can help boost your fundraising total. An average raffle can raise around £300!
We are hoping more than 1,000 people across the country will hosts quizzes in their local community; pubs, community halls, schools and workplaces. The money raised will fund our pioneering work into preventions, treatments and ultimately a cure for dementia.
We launched The Mighty Quiz on Mon 27 March thanks to the generous hospitality of BrewDog. This gave some of our partners and suppliers the opportunity to experience The Mighty Quiz first hand. It was such a great evening with so much banter and laughter. Check out the video to see if you can spot some familiar names!
