This week, we published our Annual Report for the 2022/23 financial year, and I couldn’t be more excited to reflect on such a momentous year for progress, both in dementia research and at Alzheimer’s Research UK.
At Alzheimer’s Research UK, we believe that research has the power to make breakthroughs possible. We believe in it so strongly that part of the work we do focuses on preparing the way for treatments before they’ve even succeeded in clinical trials.
Today we launched our new report Treatments of tomorrow: Preparing for breakthroughs in dementia. In it, we call for an urgent plan for managing how new medicines reach patients.
I support Alzheimer’s Research UK because I pin all hope that together we’ll be able to find a disease-modifying treatment to give more quality of life to millions like my Dad. The experience of losing Dad affects the way I plan my life because I know too well that mine can be snatched away at no notice and without explanation.
A report being released today by Alzheimer’s Research UK highlights the enormous toll of dementia on women in the UK.
