Race the Tide
I’ve got great support from two good friends who are joining me. In no particular order because these two guys are both solid as rocks.
Race the Tide is a tough 30 hour non-stop hike from Berwick to Lindisfarne island. “Non-stop” is the important word there – it means that we’ll be walking through the night in the depths of the Northumbrian darkness.
There are so many cruel diseases out there, and they are all worthy of our support, but dementia does something really horrible – it takes away the essence of who a person is. It steals memories and the ability to make new ones, it forces carers to live with an often unknown version of the person they are caring for. And in the end it is fatal.
With training underway, we asked Team ARUK their favourite workout soundtrack.
This September 200 of our supporters will Race the Tide in a tough 30 hour non-stop hike through the Northumbrian countryside.
All the anticipation has got the office team reminiscing about our favourite hikes and our toughest ones.
