Alzheimer’s Research UK celebrates ‘Best Companies’ award

Cambridgeshire-based charity, Alzheimer’s Research UK, has been recognised as one of the Best Companies to Work for in the East of England.

The charity, with its head office in Great Abington, was placed 49 on the list of 75 organisations, created by Best Companies. This comes just weeks after Alzheimer’s Research UK was named as one of The Sunday Times 100 Best Companies to Work for in the not-for-profit sector.

The accolade recognises organisations that have an engaged workforce. This is measured by an extensive survey, asking employees about different factors including personal development, leadership and the feeling of giving something back.

Alzheimer’s Research UK is the UK’s leading dementia research charity, dedicated to better understanding, diagnosing, treating and reducing the risk of dementia. Its mission is to bring about the first life-changing treatment for dementia by 2025.

Since the charity was founded in 1992, Alzheimer’s Research UK has funded over £25.5m in research in the East of England, where more than 82,000 people are living with dementia. The charity is currently investing in 26 research projects in the area, including at the University of Cambridge and University of East Anglia, worth nearly £8m.
