Interim Chief Executive
It is an honour to be introducing the charity’s inaugural Supporter Awards, which aims to shine a spotlight on some of our wonderful fundraisers and volunteers.
Our awards will be a digital celebration, hosted on our website, to ensure as many people as possible are able to celebrate our nominees and winners. We are keen that they are as inclusive and accessible as possible.
As you may have already seen, we have shared the categories and respective nominees for the launch of the Supporter Awards so please do take some time to check out the categories and see who has been nominated. You may spot a familiar face or two!
We have nine brilliant categories and eight of those are currently with our awards judging panel, who will be selecting a winner for each category. I feel privileged to be part of that panel as we can see some of the incredible lengths our supporters have gone to in order to raise awareness and vital funds for dementia research.
Our ninth category recognises those who have been supporting the charity in a myriad of ways from awareness-raising through to incredible fundraising challenges. They truly have gone above and beyond for Alzheimer’s Research UK.
Without our supporters we would not be able to make the progress we are making in dementia research, support scientists throughout their careers or have as many conversations in communities across the UK (and even the world in some cases).
Therefore, while we cannot give all of our supporters an award we would like to thank them for all they have done and continue to do in the name of dementia research.
I look forward to celebrating our winners with you in November so mark your calendars and dust off your party hats – our digital awards are a perfect excuse to celebrate in the comfort of your own home.
