Donate in memory
Remember a loved one by supporting research to defeat dementia
Gifts in memory are an incredibly special and positive way to remember someone close to you. By supporting Alzheimer’s Research UK, you will be funding research to prevent, treat and ultimately, cure dementia.
There are a number of ways to commemorate your loved one which are outlined on this page.
Donations in lieu of flowers
If you wish to remember your loved one by asking family and friends to make a donation at the funeral or memorial service, perhaps in lieu of flowers, we would be very grateful.
If you have collection money to donate to us, you can do this in three ways:
- By phone on 0300 111 5555
- By post to Alzheimer’s Research UK, 3 Riverside, Granta Park, Cambridge, CB21 6AD
- Online via our donation page
If the funeral or memorial service has not yet been held, we can provide collection envelopes which can be gathered on the day or sent back at a later date. Funeral Directors often help out with this process.
For more information, please contact our Supporter Care Team on 0300 111 5555 or fill in our form to request envelopes.
Remembering your loved one
For some, donating to a favourite charity is a meaningful way to remember loved ones on special occasions, whether that’s a birthday, an anniversary, at Christmas, or simply because they’re missed.
You may wish to consider setting up a Lasting Memory Gift. This is a personal way to celebrate the life of someone you love while supporting Alzheimer’s Research UK.
Creating your Lasting Memory Gift is incredibly simple, and once set up, it provides a website where family and friends can leave messages, share memories, light a candle, add photos, videos and music.
It also offers the opportunity to help others whose lives are touched by dementia with your generosity recorded in one place.
If you need any help in setting up a tribute page, please contact our Supporter Care Team.
Book of Remembrance
At our office, we display a dedicated Remembrance Book to commemorate your loved one.
If you would like us to include your loved one’s name in the book, we would be grateful if you could tell us their name and your special message of up to 20 words. Please contact our Supporter Care Team, or put a note in with your donation.
