The Information Standard

What is The Information Standard?

The Information Standard is a certification scheme supported by the Department of Health. It was set up to ensure that the public have access to reliable and trustworthy health and social care information. This will help people to make informed choices about their lifestyle, conditions and treatment options.

Alzheimer’s Research UK is proud to be a certified member of The Information Standard, showing that our health information is:
  • Accurate and based on reliable evidence
  • Balanced and impartial
  • Clear and well-designed
  • Accessible and up-to-date

More information about The Information Standard.

You will know which sections of our website are covered by the Information Standard by the distinctive Information Standard kite mark at the bottom of the page. Any health information on our website which does not display the kite mark will be in the process of being reviewed to ensure that it is accurate and up-to-date.

How to help

You can help us to maintain and develop our health information by volunteering to become an information reviewer. We are keen to hear your thoughts on the health information we produce and are constantly looking to make improvements. Being an information reviewer only requires a couple of hours of your time a year, yet can make a huge difference to us. If you would like to join our information review group, please contact Alison Cranage on 0300 111 5555 or email a.cranage@alzheimersresearchuk.org
